You want to start playing Armada? Congratulations! But you don't wand to buy into both factions. (At least while you start.) And now you need a hint how to decide which side you want to play?
If you want to choose a faction for SW: Armada there are three questions you should ask yourself:
1) Do you like a side or character in films or comics best? If you like imitating the sound of a TIE fighter or you're a fan of mean Darth Vader killing dozens of rebels in Rogue One, why taking rebels? If you fell instantly in love with princess Leia, because of her hair style and have to sing the rebel theme as soon as you see an X-wing, then don't stick with the slaves of the Emperor.
2) What's your playstyle: Force or finesse? It's hard to gi…
Last saturday I had the opportunity to teach the game to a new player. We had lots of fun and talked much about the game. He told me that he loves the gorgious models best.
I also love minis and I invested some time in painting to give my ships their own special flavour. But is this what I like best about the game?
I pondered and I came to compare the game with the two other strategy games I played. Or tried to play. The first one was Star Wars: X-wing. That's also a game with awesome looking Star Wars minis. Years ago as the game arrived I had the opportunity to give it a try at a game fair at my home town. My daughter took the X-wing, I took the TIEs. We planed and maneuvered and finally we shot! We rolled dice! And the we rolled…
its now ten month that we got to know that "The Clone Wars" will come to Star Wars: Armada. The release is scheduled for late 2020. But I wouldn't bet money that FFG can succeed in arriving at time.
I'm no fan of the prequel trilogy as far as it concerns the films themselves. But there's a lot of good things in these films. To be honest we didn't see too many different space ships in the original trilogy. Nearly all of them do have a representation in Star Wars: Armada now. With the arrival of the impressive Super Star Destroyer mini there's nothing left of the original content, other than some blurred background ships seen (or not really seen) at the battle of endor. Most of the ships I love to play with have never been seen at…
when I joined in 2016 I tried to improve and add many things at the wiki. I started in the "good old days" when wave 3 and 4 had been announced together with the first campaign box. We even got a wave 5 announcement the same year! I found that more and more recent infos were missing and started to helped out.
I'm helping out for 3 1/2 years now. I did over 8,000 edits and the Armada wiki provides now over 600 pages, nearly 830 pictures and more than 270 videos for those that look for informations about and hints for this wonderful miniatures game. But I could never have created this wiki. That's the great work of my predecessors.
I want to say „Thank you very much!“ to Mikael Hasselstein and others, who started the wiki before the f…
happy new year to all Armada gamers and wiki users out there!
2016 I started to play Armada. Even before I bought my first ship I peeked in the Star Wars: Armada wiki. It has been a source of knowledge and inspiration ever since! And quite soon I started to add a detail here and correct a typo there. A few months later I was regularily here to update and add pages.
Three years is a long time. But I'm still learning how a wiki funchtions and what features exist. Only a few days ago I asked myself what I could do with infoboxes ...? And I added them as a feature for expansion packs!
And today I stumbled over the "blog". So okay! Why not trying something new in 2020. Let's start a blog about what is happening here at the wiki and in …
